So most if not all RS candidates have at least heard if not used Ruhann’s routing bits handbook.

Back when I first starting using the 7K’s I thought the naming of the line cards followed the same logical naming scheme of all other Cisco equipment (by that I mean there is no logic to it at all!

So this week my CCIE package arrived along with this little beauty.

Cisco Half Duplex VRF’s (HD VRF’s) # The other day whilst reading up on some SP topics I came across a rarely used function available on some higher end Cisco models called half duplex VRF’s (or HD VRF’s in some places).

So yesterday Cisco announced that it has EoL’d some (most) of the first generation ASA series of firewall.

Well since passing my CCIE R&S I’ve been sat at the crossroads of where to go to next.

As a follow up to my last post here on my CCIE lab failure… or so I thought.

Well since getting the result of my 3rd lab attempt (FAIL for those that haven’t already seen) I’ve spent the rest of the week getting on with my normal day-to-day but also considering where did I go wrong?

I’ve been quiet on here since my last attempt but yesterday I once again made the trip to the Lab in Brussels….

Well it’s almost time to take the plunge again and go for another attempt at the CCIE R&S Lab exam.

EDNS0 – DNS Extensions # History # There are a growing number of issues that we have seen relating to this quite old however only recently used extension to DNS called EDNS0.

Well my seat and travel etc is all booked for my second attempt at the R&S lab.

Well last week I went over to Brussels to take my first lab attempt.

Well today I got the confirmation through from Cisco that my lab attempt has been paid for and therefore there is no turning back now!

Last Friday I finished the 10-day R&S bootcamp from the guys over at INE and I just though that I would post a few words about the overall experience.

One week down?

I recently had an issue where one of my Mac’s would not go to sleep whatever you tried.

It used to be something that couldn’t really be done on a Mac but I have just read through the documentation and it turns out that anything 10.

Whilst I have been studying for my CCIE I have been lucky enough to have access to a rack of equipment at my workplace which pretty much (apart from some different WIC’s etc) matches the INE topology.

Well tomorrow I’ll be jumping on a train down to London to take part in the INE 10-day CCIE bootcamp with Brian Dennis.
